Soul And Mind Care

I am yet to meet someone who enjoys being fearful, or is comfortable when they are afraid. Fear is not only uncomfortable but it steals our joy and peace in the Lord. Faith on the other hand  positions us to live in peace and to also experience true  joy in the Lord.

FEAR hinders many of us from embracing our purpose or even fulfilling our destiny in Christ. Fear has the capacity to keep us from inheriting what is rightfully ours. If we are honest with ourselves,  fear is always lurking and is the real hinderance  from doing  what God wants us to do and become who He has called us to be. FEAR is the enemy of your destiny. FEAR is the enemy of FAITH.

Yes, fear is a tool the enemy uses to hinder and deter God’s people from their destinies and purpose but it is also the very tool GOD can use to build their faith in God.  Infact, any smell of FEAR is a sign that there is something greater on the other side of whatever it is that has you afraid.  It is an opportunity to exercise our faith in God and take a stand to trust His Word beyond the fear.  The question we constantly have to ask ourselves is: Am I willing to go past the fear and allow my faith in God to take hold of what is rightfully mine?’   If we are not willing to confront the fears in our lives we end up settling and forfeiting what would have been rightfully ours. But if we are willing and obedient to move past our fears, we shall surely enjoy the reward on the other side of our obedience. If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; (Isaiah 1:19)

There is something greater on the other side of whatever has you so afraid.

But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6 AMP)

Faith is what pleases God.  When we choose to move past our fears and step out in faith in Him, we are practically living out faith. We all desire to grow our faith to that place where we can follow God easily without hesitation or doubt but this only happens as we slay the different giants of fear that keep coming along our journey of faith in God. Each slayed giant of fear gives you the much needed confidence to slay the next one till the shackles of fear cannot hold you back from accomplishing your purpose.

God is not caught by surprise when His children are afraid, infact He is so aware of how dangerous fear can be that He addressed it numerous times in His HOLY WORD.

  • For God has said, ‘I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.’ So we can say with confidence, ‘the Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?’ (Hebrews 13: 5-6)

  •  So you have not received a Spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you have received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him Abba, Father. (Romans 8:15)

  • For I hold you by your right hand- I the Lord your God. And I say to you ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’  (Isaiah 41:13 )

  •  The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)

  • All you who fear the Lord, trust the Lord! He is your helper and your shield.(Psalm 115:11)

Has God given you an instruction and fear is holding you back from obeying Him or even accomplishing the task at hand? I encourage you to say NO to that FEAR and say YES to God by taking a step of faith and doing something about whatever needs to be done.  Just go ahead and obey because beyond whatever has you so afraid is so much of God’s amazing grace and goodness  waiting to be embraced and experienced by you.

Take God at His WORD and trust Him. DO NOT BE AFRAID, HE IS WITH YOU.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I pray that you will help all of us overcome fear and take steps of faith in you. Help us to trust you and to believe your word. Lord let faith arise in each of us and let the shackles of fear in our lives be broken and disarmed completely that we may take hold of what you obtained from us at the cross oh dear Lord Jesus. In your name , Lord Jesus I pray, AMEN.
