Hello everyone, I am returning to this space after what seems like an eternity away. Four solid years. My leaving was not intentional, but numerous life transitions and movements left me with no time or space to actually seat and write. While I have been away, our family unit has grown. God has blessed our eldest Salem with siblings, a sister Selah, and a brother Samuel.
An opportunity to pursue theological training also opened up for me while in the deep of birthing and nurturing our little ones. The opportunity beckoned us to California, and we said goodbye to beautiful Geneva, Switzerland in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was initially afraid that the timing was just wrong (our little Selah was only 6 months when I began). However, God’s hand was all over the opportunity in undeniable ways. Afraid and unsure of my abilities to juggle school and babies, I took it on anyway, trusting the one who had opened the door. Two years have flown by and I await graduation from Seminary this coming June! What a journey of God’s grace, provision, and growth!
As I approached the end of my seminary training, and about to birth our baby Samuel, a new transition beckoned as my husband’s work required us to relocate to Nairobi, Kenya. And again, we said goodbye to Pasadena, California and moved to Nairobi. What a journey, what a ride as we have encountered and experienced the faithfulness of God midst all the transitions and movements. And now, I return to writing, blogging, and sharing all the incredible lessons and insights gleaned along the journey.
I left as a mom to three-year-old Salem whilst pregnant with Selah. I return to you as a mom of three incredible friends, theologically trained, with insights from cross-cultural engagements in the various places we have had the privilege of living. The Gardener of this soil has been busy, tending, pruning, weeding, and planting seeds. There has been a harvest, I invite you to share in it by reading, responding, and sharing your own insights.
